Wildgrain

Wildgrain

Guess who's back, back again, Rozziefoodie, yes indeed!

This fabulous entry is going to be a bit different than my usual blogs.  Of course it involves my favorite subject in the entire universe...FOOD.  This one is about a wonderful company called Wildgrain (website above).  They deliver frozen and ready to be baked artisan breads, pastas and pastries to your door.  Everything I have tasted is DELICIOUS!

The sourdough bread is fresh and crusty and just damn tasty.  One step I had to adjust to is actually following directions.  And these directions are kinda necessary for the best possible result. I'm not one to wait to sample my first nibble but this is a MUST!  I made the mistake once of slicing right into the bread out of the oven. Not a good idea.  The last specific step of which you have to wait about 15 to 20 minutes after your scrumptious carb is out of the oven is difficult I know.  Just waiting to be slathered with butter and devoured but TRUST it's worth the wait. You can choose your own thickness when slicing the bakery like loaf. It's great warm or toasted or however you want.  And it stores well for the next day. The sourdough rolls are also amazing and super convenient.

They have 17 variations of breads alone. Other than the sourdough bread and rolls, I've thoroughly enjoyed the demi baquettes.  The cranberry pecan loaf was rich and is great toasted for breakfast or for a sweet snack with jam and/or butter.  The slow -fermented olive oil loaf was absurdly good dipped in a bit of olive oil mixed with salt, pepper, grated cheese and red pepper flakes.  YUM!!  The brioche rolls are just begging for a grilled cheeseburger to be slapped between it's buns!  TBD!  The English muffins are wonderful toasted with your favorite topping (cream cheese is bomb).  Thomas' has major competition.

Other products include quite a few types of pasta such as tortellini, gnocchi, tonnarelli, rigatoni, and way more.  All so fresh and ready to be paired with my homemade sauce or yours.  Their product line also includes delectable desserts.  Cookies, biscuits. mini cakes, brownies, and more!  The brownies are literally one of the best I've ever had.  They are best warm but also just as yummy not.  They are fudgy and cakey if that makes sense.  Topped with just the right amount of chocolate morsels.  To die for.  Not kidding.  And honestly as I get older I've found it easier to convey my varying opinions. Whether pleasant or negative, my thoughts will be blurted.  And these brownies are BOMBTASTIC!

They have bagels of all sorts, seasonal treats of many, pizza, veggie products, non dairy products, plant based, etc!  My main squeeze raves about their Belgian waffles drizzled with maple syrup and smothered with butter.  And as I browse their substantial product list, I noticed they now have butter!! That will be a substitute in my next order. Fo shizzle.

Oh and they have the cutest croissants and sticky buns. Need I say more?  Yes I will.

They have the most amazing, caring, attention to detail, kind owners and customer service team. Most recently and actually the reason for this blog of mine, they contacted me regarding a routine order. Daniel initially contacted me about my order being delayed and politely asked for a reply.  Obv I forgot.  The delay was not on my radar.   Upon unpacking my order I noticed most of the ice had melted and the box of blueberry biscuits was kinda smashed up.  No big deal I thought.  I put the items in my freezers and went about my life.  Upon remembering the email, I responded letting them know I had received the order and mentioned the blueberry biscuit box.

Clarence was next to promptly get back to me, stating to toss the biscuits and asking what compensation I would prefer.  I agreed to a new box in my next order. He responded kindly and in the meantime we had inhaled the recently delivered fudge brownies.  Accompanied by a cold glass of milk, I sang and continue to sing their many praises.  Clarence was super grateful for my compliment and wrote he will send the kind words to the team.  ALSO, they will send me a complimentary box of brownies in my next order!  WHAT?!

Another significant factor of why I love Wildgrain, you can substitute any item in your upcoming order, you can delay your order as many times as you need to, you will not be charged if delayed.  They text or email reminders, not annoying just helpful. If you are anything like me and indulge in gardening now and then, the memory is not at it's best at all times. :) These simple reminder texts are appreciated.

The products speak for themselves. The staff as mentioned are down to Earth and a breath of fresh air in this day in age!  They value me as a customer and I feel it.  Thank you Wildgrain!

I apologize for the weak pics below but as mentioned, many of the products have been devoured.

Recipe Time!! And it's a good one!

There will be a proper food blog posted by me in the near future.  A few friends have inquired to when my next entry would be published.  The fact that they took the time to ask me about my latest food journeys has  tickled me pink.  I will not disappoint.  Yes I know I have been slacking bigtime.  The blog site has been giving bad vibes but I shall overcome. Literally I'm always thinking about what I can be sharing  with you all about the love of my life. Food, glorious food!

Well, it's your lucky day.  Another delicious recipe by The one and only General.  My Mom.  You are very welcome.

This concoction is extra yummy.  The Munster cheese and shrooms make it sooo moist and tasty.   Stop!  It's the only appropriate word for the description of this dish.  MOIST!

I hope you enjoy this comida as much as my family has.

My Handwritten Cookbook from the General

Do not faint.  I repeat.  Do not faint.  Your girl is back!
I am alive and cooking and back at attempting to blog, vlog,
what the heck ever you
want to call my artistic creations about food.
I realize it's been an eternity since I have blessed you
all with my wonderful
opinions on food. I'm certain that you have sincerely missed me and
my craziness.
Well, you are welcome.  Here I am.
At least for today.
For real though. I'm happy to be back being facetious with ya.
Joking around about my love of food and the lengths
I shall go to for my
favorite bites.
And as you know I usually drag my man along. It's not exactly a difficult task.
He loves food as much as I do. And I'm a self declared Passenger Princess. :)
I will confess to you straight outta the gate.
This blog is going to be short and sweet and definitely from the heart.
I'm sharing a beloved recipe from my Mom.
She gifted a handwritten recipe book to me years ago and I cherish that spiral notebook of love.
I'm pretty sure I have mentioned this cookbook before and perhaps shared a recipe or two.
Today I shall post the most delicious Chicken Cacciatore  recipe for you to have and
make with your loved ones.
