La Taqueria! (02131)
2018! Dang. It's weird to even type those numbers but here we are. Another year filled with so many wonderful food voyages to look forward to.
What up party people! It's been beyond way too long since I have put my yummy opinions out here on the interwebs for you to savor. So appreciative of the few of you who have inquired about my lack of Rozziefoodie entries. Really warms my heart to know that people enjoy my food for thoughts. So here's to a happy and healthy 2018 full of delectable treats.
La Taqueria! Que rico! (www.lataqueriaboston.com)
Mi esposo and I have ordered delivery from this joint on several occasions. Like even twice in the same damn week because ADDICTED!
The restaurant is located on super busy Hyde Park Avenue with a very small parking area. The business is always booming as in phones are ringing off the hook. The staff is friendly, efficient, and apologetic for wait times when you are lucky enough to get through. So as mentioned we get delivery and opt to order on-line. Mentioning for your convenience because that's how I roll.
You may wait up to an hour for your comida to arrive so plan accordingly when you get the urge for some Mexican cuisine that you surely will never forget after tasting. People LOVE this place for obvious reasons so they are usually busy, busy, busy!
Now to the point! The menu features authentic homemade Mexican food from homemade chips and guacamole (delish) to appetizers, street food, tacos, entrees, burritos, salads, desserts, horchata and much more. The ingredients are fresh and tasty and packaged in a proper manner.
The category/choice for tacos are Traditional or International with the options of corn, flour, or hard tortilla. Fillings include chicken, beef, pork, veggie. I have not been able to get the Americano on a hard shell and the Chicken Tinga on a flour tortilla out of my head. The Americano is seasoned ground beef, lettuce, tomato, and Jack cheese. So so good. Always order a second SOFT tortilla to wrap around the hard one. Believe me! You will thank me later. The Chicken Tinga diced onions, cilantro, and fresh squeezed lime is Heaven on Earth. Obv. you can add anything you want to the tacos, burritos, etc. My fave additive is the gauc. and sour cream for the win. The chicken and cheese quesadilla is grilled just right and jammed with meat and cheese. Yeah baby . My man has indulged in the Carne Asada burrito with the works minus the rice. The thing weighed a good four LB'S. Also super fresh and very delicious.
Unfortunately, I can not speak on many of the other various food options because once I find something I love I stick to it. I do know the nacho chips are crisp and worth ordering. Maybe sometime in the near future I will broaden my horizons and get an entree or salad. The entire menu looks fantastic. No matter your choice of food lifestyle, there is something for you at La Taqueria. Muy Delicioso!
